It's Time

Yes, my friends, it is definitely time to blog again. The summer is filling up. Looking at our calender, we have at least one event planned for every weekend for the next thirteen weeks straight. These inlcude camping trips, weddings, concerts, and more! Now... I'll try to fill you in on the last few weeks with a few snapshots.
Here Noah is walking on water at Oaks Bottom. ;)

We dubbed this tree "Old Man Willow". Can you see why?

Taking our friends on their first trip to Oregon on a walking tour of Portland was definitely a highlight of May.

Trying on hats at a vintage shop!

The Library downtown.

These curious shoes we discoverd in another vintage shop.
View from the sky walk.
With our out of state friends!

What great pictures!!!
Loved how you all were trying on hats at the store; we do the same thing when all of us go to New Seasons. We not only do hats, but we do sunglasses and scarves. One time a lady was watching us "goof around" and we didn't know it... later she came and told us that she saw us and thought that we were "such a cute family"! Yes, we were really embarrassed! :D

I don't get it, is Noah suppose to be an old man? (I actaully read that part!)

That's funny!

The Willow Tree connection comes from a book. Maybe a quote would help explain the nature of the tree:
"He lifted his heavy eyes and saw leaning over him a huge willow-tree, old and hoary. Enormous it looked, its sprawling branches going up like reaching arms with many long-fingered hands, its knotted and twisted trunk gaping in wide fissures that creaked faintly as the boughs moved.....Merry was trapped: another crack had closed about his waist; his legs lay outside, but the rest of him was inside a dark opening, the edges of which gripped like a pair of pincers."

-J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring, Chapter 6 "The Old Forest")

Here is the movie clip (somewhat different from the book, in actuality) in case you are interested. This scene starts around 4:12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RuSrDabiKg
