At Last, The Last Photos From Our Trip!

I was busy with school and just realized that although I had uploaded the final set of photos from our trip, I had never captioned and posted them!  Here is the final set for your enjoyment.

The entrance to Yellowstone Park
Walking the boardwalk of the sulfur pools
A curious formation caused by the sulfur eating away at the rock

The acidic water left barren landscapes

Did we reach the entrance to hell?
Does anyone want a soak in the hot tub?
The boiling mudpot
It was amazing how much hot water just steamed from the ground all over the place!

One of the ways you know that Old Faithful is about to erupt is that it starts emitting short spurts of water, the other way is that you see hundreds of people lined up watching...

Old Faithful!
I loved the Old Faithful Lodge - it reminded me of Rivendell.

The way they used bent logs was very unique!

Yellowstone Canyon

In front of Yellowstone Falls

We took a day to drive down to Grand Teton National Park!

We hiked 4 1/2 miles out to a lake, and then several people decided they wanted to go swimming and went in jeans and all!

The Corral Drive In serves the best buffalo burgers in Montana.  If you ever visit Yellowstone, be sure to stop in!
Here is Mom contemplating buying a truckload of the delicious made in Montana ice cream...
The adorable cabin we stayed in
The cabin was an original settlers cabin from the 1800's that had been fixed up into a guest rental.  We enjoyed being in the atmosphere of a real ranch with horses and cattle out the window.
For our last hike in Yellowstone Dad really wanted to hike a peak, so we hiked up to the ranger station at the top of Mt. Washburn.
It was the highest elevation we had ever hiked!

Lol again, authentic pioneer cabin... complete with hdtv, dvd, scrabble, and monopoly jr! OK I'll stop making fun of your post now. In reality, I liked the pictures. :) Thanks for posting!

I was getting worried when I saw that you had not posed for 2 1/2 weeks!

Those were great pictures! I enjoyed looking through them... the amazing creation points to such an awesome Creator!!!

We laughed when we saw the swimming picture! We have done that before... That water sure looked tempting! :)

See you all on Wednesday!

@ Daniel, the authentic cabin's hdtv didn't work - so we had to stick to the old fashioned games. :)

@ Shiloh, unfortunately Mom stuck to getting several tubs of the icecream from the grocery store. It was still most deliceous! We were first introduced to it at t coffee shop where we got HUGE scoops for only $1.75. We were addicted. :)

It probably would have melted on the long drive home, there for the responsible thing to do was eat it all before we left the cabin!
