Photo Shoot

How does one get seven people and a photographer together for a photo shoot? We certainly had an adventure! At first we couldn't even decide where to shoot! We wanted something outdoors that spoke of journeying through highlands. But where could such a place be found within a reasonable drive? We finally settled on a spot at Coyote Moon Ranch where we used to play as children. There was a pond and green hills and trees. But the road (that used to be drivable) was rather overgrown and muddy. The family agreed to try the hike out there, but October was beginning and the rains had started. We decided to attempt photos one overcast Friday afternoon. Our cousin Todd joined us at the ranch after work and we unloaded our instruments and various paraphernalia and began the hike in. We were an amusing group. The girls wore their Celtic blouses and vests with jeans and jumped over puddles and waded through grass. They then had to change when we got to the pond. Dad had the seemingly impossible job of carrying Janna's 30 pound harp out to the pond. He did it, even jumping (with the harp) over a mud puddle!

We got all set up and we can't thank Todd enough! He shot four rolls of film. He dodged horse droppings as he stretched out on the ground to get shots looking up and balanced on top of an old row boat to get shots looking down on us. The rain held off for the entire two hours.

We are so excited about the beautiful photos we took. The adventure was worth it!
