CD Release Concert: the day before

Our CD release concert was a dream up true! So many wonderful people came together to make that evening possible!

Hopefully this post will give you an idea of all the work and fun that went in to getting ready for our big event!
It all started weeks before when God led us to Gladstone Christian Church...the perfect venue. We knew we wanted cookies and tea at our concert, so we baked some cookies and sweet breads during the proceeding weeks and froze them so we wouldn't have quite so much to do the day before. Over Thanksgiving, Aunt Paula helped us plan and make lists. On the Thursday before the concert, Paula, Mom, and Kathrina spent the day shopping and getting everything packed into boxes. Aunt Paula (with help from Uncle Bill) thought up and made all the decorations. She was amazing and we couldn't have done with out her!

We were very excited when some homeschooling friends of ours agreed to come down from Washington and help with baking sweets and setting up for the party. On Friday, Mom met Mrs. C. halfway and picked up Keslie. We were very sad because Kami had a cold and was unable to come. Keslie was great fun! We had to do a performance at our Grandma's retirement home that afternoon, so as soon as Keslie arrived, she was dragged off to our performance! After the concert, Keslie helped to make dinner and several batches of cookies. Of course we chatted and laughed the whole time!

Mom made packets of spices for the apple cider. Here she is pounding up nutmeg with a hammer!

What's so fascinating about all those cookies?

We signed personal notes on all the CD's we gave away to teachers and helpers.

We stayed up a bit too late watching The Photographer, a film Keslie had brought back from the San Antonio Christian Film Festival. It was fun and exciting and the quality of filmmaking was amazing. The independent Christian filmmakers are getting better all the time! We then tried to get a good night's sleep for tomorrow would be the day we'd been dreaming about for a whole year!
