Keslie's Wedding: THE event of our summer

For the past month we've been working away at finishing our "wedding dresses." We just came home from the most beautiful wedding I've ever witnessed. And now we have a "just married" car in our driveway. But before you begin to think that adds up to congratulations in store for one of the Bisceglia girls, let me hasten to add that no, none of us are married. However, we have had plenty of wedding stuff on our minds, lately...


All summer we've been looking forward to playing for our friend Keslie's wedding. Not only is this the first time we have played for a girlfriend's ceremony, we were able to spend three days in Washington helping the families with wedding details and enjoying old and new friends. We finished sewing new outfits just barely in time for the wedding! Now we will be able to enjoy our new cream-colored dresses for other events as well!

We arrived Friday afternoon in Chehalis, Washington just in time for the rehearsal.



The Wiltbanks and Smiths hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Wiltbanks beautiful farm.


Noah enjoyed the company of several other boys. He certainly got plenty of "boy time" that weekend!



We were blessed to be able to stay with the King family nearby. We enjoyed playing with the young King children and having deep discussions with Mr. and Mrs. King.

The wedding took place in a large, rustic old barn that has been converted into a wedding facility.

The ceremony was full of music! One of the bridesmaids sang "My Love Is Like A Red, Red Rose". We accompanied her and were pleased how it turned out, as we'd only been able to practice a couple times together!

What a special thing it is to witness a couple's first kiss!

Dad was busy with our sound system throughout the entire afternoon. Mr. King also hooked up his computer to our mixer and recorded the entire ceremony. It was exciting to see how our sound system could be used and witness how the men worked together to accomplish the complicated set-ups!

Our very own Kathrina caught the bouquet for the "under fifteens". Could that possibly mean Kathrina will soon be married????

Keslie and David enjoy the first waltz. Later, we all enjoyed old-fashioned English Country Dancing in the most perfect setting...the Red Barn!

The next day, we went back to the Red Barn to help clean up. Of course, we somehow managed to squeeze in more visiting!

Before we headed back to Oregon, our friends Jeff and Ashley (mentioned in the post The Common Bond of Music) provided a delicious dinner. Jeff also showed Noah how to throw knives!

We enjoyed hanging out in the kitchen with Ashley and meeting Jeff's sisters. Later we played hymns together in the living room, once again marveling how music can cross bridges and create bonds and delight the soul.

Now, because of a strange maze of circumstances, we have Keslie and David's decorated car in our driveway. We are keeping it for them while they are on their honeymoon. Every time we look out the window, we smile and thank God for the blessing of that weekend!
