Pendragon!

After our involvement in the independent film Never Be Shaken, we try to keep up on other films made for the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival. We were especially interested in Pendragon, as it is a historical epic set in ancient Britain. Yes, anything historical certainly perks our excitement! The production was led by two homeschooling families with hundreds of extras, volunteers, and crew. This year will be the first time the SAICFF has allowed feature length films to enter the competition. Pendragon is almost two hours long. We wondered how it would hold up. Previous film festival entries have struggled with acting, dialogue, characterization and editing.

We finally got the DVD in the mail a few days ago and excitedly sat down to watch it. All we can say is "Wow!" Yes, the acting and dialogue doesn't quite live up to a Hollywood epic, but...
In Pendragon you have:
Lots of action
Sword fights
Special effects
Historical costumes
Beautiful filming locations
Digital effects
An exciting story
And most importantly A script that honors God and encourages a Christian family vision

Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you like family friendly, independent films, check it out!
